Our History
The facility opened in 1983 and has been providing skilled nursing services to the Shell Lake and surrounding communities from that time forward. It was purchased by Premiere Healthcare in July 2016 and fully remodeled and brought up to date, part of those sweeping changes was the name, which changed to Shell Lake Healthcare Center.
We continue to serve the community and also participate in and offer many events and fundraisers.
Events and Community Projects
We offer many events such as an Easter Egg hunt held here each year for the area children of families and residents. Safe trick or treating at Halloween.
The Resident family Christmas party. All staff and families do a bake sale and silent auction and raise funds for each resident to receive Christmas gifts.
We also work in concert with area clubs, such as the Shell Lake Lions who grace us every year at Christmas with Caroling.
The local Schools visit and bring the children in as well.
In August we host a facility community resident and family picnic, each year it has a theme for dress up in costume by all the staff and residents. In 2019 theme was Shipwrecked at Shell lake and the crew of the SS Minnow were onsite serving.
Annually we choose a cause to fund raise for, past years have been the Washburn County Humane Society, The Alzheimer's Association Walk, and Relay for Life to name a few.
